Terms of Service - CookPea (Mobile App)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CookPea mobile application (“App”), operated by Agni Technologies, Netherlands (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Eligibility

CookPea is intended for users aged 13 and older.

By using the App, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms

2. Account Registration & Security

2.1 Account Creation

To use certain features, you must create an account using:

  • A valid email address
  • A password

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

2.2 Account Responsibility

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Not share your account with others
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access

We are not responsible for losses caused by unauthorized account use.

3. User-Generated Content

3.1 Content You Can Create

Users may create and upload

  • Recipes (text)
  • Images of food
  • Likes and ratings (anonymous)

3.2 Content Visibility

When publishing a recipe, you may choose whether it is:

  • Public (default)
  • Private

Public content is visible to other users.

4. Content Ownership & License

4.1 Your Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create.

4.2 License to CookPea

By posting content, you grant CookPea a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Host
  • Store
  • Display
  • Distribute
  • Reproduce

This license exists only to operate and improve the App.

4.3 Account Deletion

When deleting your account, you may choose to:

  • Delete all your content, or
  • Keep your content publicly available anonymously

Anonymous content will no longer be linked to your profile.

5. Prohibited Content & Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Infringe intellectual property rights
  • Upload misleading, false, or spam content
  • Abuse or harass other users
  • Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the App

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Image Uploads & Media

  • Images are stored using Cloudinary
  • Only food images are allowing (exception for profile pictures)
  • The App does not automatically resize or alter images
  • You must have the right to upload any image you submit

7. Email & Notifications

CookPea may send:

  • Transactional emails (e.g. password reset, email verification)
  • Push notifications (optional)

You can disable push notifications in your device or app settings.

8. Analytics & App Performance

We collect basic usage data only, including:

  • App stability
  • Crash reports
  • Essential usage statistics

We do not track detailed user behavior such as button clicks or screen interactions beyond what is required for app functionality.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your content poses legal or safety risks
  • Required by lay or authorities

You may delete your account at any time via the App settings.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available".

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Content will always be accurate or reliable
  • Recipes are safe, suitable, or allergen-free

Use recipes at your own discretion. Always verify yourself that a recipe is safe for you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not responsible for user-generated content
  • We are not liable for data loss or service interuptions

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify users through the App or by email.

Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Laws

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
